As an assignment, I had to render this last piece of text for one of my classes. I quite relished the experience and its’ savour. In a sense, I found that concocting phrases in such a manner can even get exhilarating at times. Albeit, the proficiency and benevolence of my professor is not to be overlooked.

Anyhow, I decided to put the result here and I hope it is of interest/use to you, as well.

The follies of youth never end. Simply look back on your past and with or without this sense of nostalgia, you begin to realize this very fact. The story begins with pudgy feet and fingers and ends like more or less the same – a tad scrawny, if you will. Remaining unruffled while being disconsolate is all it takes to make this journey more or less worthwhile, if not pleasant.

It is Norouz and this place could really use some sprucing up. All year long it was jam-packed with commuters and at the very least, someone should be sparing a though for its future. One might even draw an analogy between this alley and those gigantic gutters of the Occident.  This place is ancient old. All you need to do is to make a stop and try to find your bearings – after all these years. That was all I felt called upon to warn you about.

My hunch is that the high point of their visit was Tajrish (the square!) They were explicitly over the moon. What I tried to hammer home to them was the fact that they’d better make a detour to avoid the traffic, the crowd. But while they were devouring their burgers and were already enamored with that convivial atmosphere, they simply refused to listen to a word and it has made it all the more interesting. The reason was twofold, though. The hucksters who were, to their eyes, appealing. The tumult of the packed bazaar was even more attractive to them. Suddenly, I saw one of them, sitting cross-legged and writhing in agony from eating a rotten turnip right after his burger. Poor thing, that brought a not very happy ending to their story and our day out.

With this flamboyant personality that you have, you’re bound to pass muster in anything you desire one way or another. I distinctly feel it. Success is what makes you tick! Just remain unaffected, friendly and never lose momentum as you go on.

I was simply incredulous. This time they’ve broken the driver’s window, have stolen the AirBag and I simply didn’t know what to say or do. Again, I found that little piece of paper, having the phone number of this local Police station which made me all the more disconsolate. Last time it was the stereo and now the AirBag. Fortunately and unlike the last time, I could get the car started myself and have driven it to someplace safe, miles off.

I mean if there are not enough jobs around, some folks, most probably struggling with making the ends meet, decide to earn a few bucks this way. I wish they simply asked for it and I dare say the owner would be happy to pay them what they earn selling these parts and evade the hassle of fixing the car. They sure don’t give a hoot what transpires anyway.

Feeling dejected, I threw my tea out and returned home. 2:30 in the morning and I’ve had my mock IELTS test in 9 hours’ time. (And the scores, eh?)
